Manteno School District 5
Manteno Primary School is located in Kankakee County and serves approximately 350 students. There are seven sections of each grade level. 17% of the students at Manteno Primary are low income. Technology is incorporated into the curriculum, with several student computers in each room and teachers trained to use technology in the classroom. The staff utilizes PBIS to help students learn to become respectful, responsible and productive. The mission of the school district is to provide all students with a safe environment for quality life-long educational experiences, to nurture their academic, social, emotional and physical needs, enabling all to be productive members of society. The district is the recipient of the “2006 School Search Bright Star” award.
